Now is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with PADI, the dive company that sets the standards in the global diving community.
Why PADI Open Water?
As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world; you have the freedom to dive worldwide down to a depth of 18 meters with a buddy independent of a professional.
What do I need to start?
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
ยท Minimum age: 10 (Aquapigs will only take children of age 12 or above in English waters). Participants are also required to complete a Medical Statement prior to their course.
What will I do?
Throughout the course, you'll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean or lake) dives.
How long will it take?
PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. Our most popular course consists of five weekly pool dives. Aquapigs operates weekly pool sessions on a Wednesday evening at Greensward Academy Hockley and we schedule these to start every few weeks. Open water dives can be completed in one weekend at Stoney Cove ( UK 's most popular inland dive site). We run monthly trips here throughout the year so you can choose the weekend most convenient for you. You can read your course book and watch the course DVD at home and then meet up with your instructor to go through any aspects with which you need a little help. Your instructor will guide you through some practice quizzes before proceeding to the multiple-choice exam (Don't worry its not that hard!!). Essentially, you can begin your course whenever you are ready. As soon as we receive you course booking form and deposit, you can pick up your PADI crewpak and start reading!! What are you waiting for? Start Today!!
Private Tuition?
We understand that for most of us free time is of a premium. For this reason if you are unable to make our group sessions or you require that extra TLC with your own private instructor then we can work you out a private schedule. Give us a call and we can work out your course cost depending on your needs.
Too Cold?
Really cant stand the thought of getting into English Waters (it's not as bad as you think..really!) then maybe the REFERAL option is for you. Complete the Knowledge Development sessions and the Pool Dives with Aquapigs, and then finish your certification dives at destination of your choice. Aquapigs can even book your holiday (we are agents for several excellent dive operators) or even more popular is to join us on one of our many group holidays - an experience never forgotten!!
What will I need?
PADI Open Water Crew-Pak, PADI Open Water DVD, Log Book (all included in the cost of the course)
Where can I go from here?
